The first of our new daytime
workshop meetings was held on
Saturday 13th June 2015
Members were able to gain experience in computer operation and
photo editing techniques.

At our workshop night in May, members were able to photograph models on the night.
Jayne arranged to have the models available.

March 2015
The President of the Photographic Society of Queensland (PSQ), Ben Stoffl was our
invited guest at the photo competition night in March.
Ben Stoffl is also an accredited
photography judge and he judged our competition entries on the night. He also commented
on the entries and offered suggestions where he thought they could be improved. Members
were invited to discuss his comments.

At our Workshop night in March, Rob gave
us an informative overview of photo editing programs available and also explained
and discussed lens’ aperture settings and the “depth of field” subject.
Craig shared and displayed some examples of his own bird photography and capture techniques at the March Workshop.
Also, this month, our outing was to Lake Ellen at Baldwin Swamp to find some birds
to photograph. Craig gave us a very informative talk and shared his vast knowledge
and experience of bird photography.

The outing this month was around town and we captured photos to use for our next
February competition theme, ARCHITECTURE -

Our outing for members and invited guests this month was to Moore Park
Beach. Jo took her horses to the beach for us to photograph.

There were 2 separate topics for members and visitors at the Workshop night in October.
Rob
Cullen hosted a session demonstrating and answering questions on the photo editing
program, “Lightroom”.
John Carden set up a workshop to demonstrate flash photography
techniques and explained the various types of flash available. Members had the chance
to use their cameras with the studio flash equipment set up by John.

At the September workshop meeting, local photographer Paul Beutel demonstrated to
members and visitors a selection of his own photographs and shared tips and techniques
for better figure photography
July 2014
On Saturday 12th July, members and visitors went to North Bundaberg to capture photos
of the full moon as it rose across the river
BUNDABERG SHOW
June 2014 Club Outing
On
Sunday 8th June, members attended a photographic workshop at the North Bundaberg
Botanic Gardens. This was arranged by Vice President, Jo who also brought along
some willing models for us to photograph.
The models were welcomed by members as the set competition subject in June is “Outdoor Portrait”.
The girls were very happy for us to take many photos of them.
June 2014 Workshop Night
Winning
and Accepted Images from the
1st Queensland International Digital Circuit competition
were displayed.
A photography workshop was also held on the same night and activities
arranged by our Vice President, Jo.
Members who brought their cameras to the meeting were able to try different photographic techniques with flash and different lighting techniques.
May 2014 Competition Night
Monday 26th May 2014 was a members competition night.

May 2014 Workshop night
There was a discussion with members present on various topics. Members were able to offer their input on items discussed.
Rob presented the workshop that followed demonstrating camera equipment including photography light meters.
He then explained the relationship of shutter speed, aperture and ISO.
How to use camera exposure compensation when the light meter in your camera gives an incorrect reading in difficult light was explained.
April 2014 Competition night
Monday 28th April 2014 was a members competition night.

22 Members entered the April Competition
The top achievers from the night are listed
and the highest scores from the competition.
There were 17 A grade OPEN subject entries,

A grade SET subject entries,
13 B grade OPEN entries and
26 B grade SET entries.
This
is a total of 83 digital entries.
There were no print entries.
The April 2014 workshop
on Monday, 14th April 2014
there was a display and discussion on lenses, the club’s
web page, a display from Denise showing how her images were edited from original
photo to finished image and demos from Jo and Bruce.
